Guys i didnt open this thread for flaming or fighting ok, i know you have you own opinions on this but the topic is about soccer not why people go for australia or not.

and for the record i went for australia until they were knocked out, by italy and im 80% italian so then i go for my blood not favourite team

I agree finn-- I generally don't trust Man. U fans, cause when soccer became 'popular' here a couple'a years ago, every single person who 'liked' soccer began to 'support' man. u... Of course, there are real man. u fans, but It seems many man. u fans just jumped on the soccer bandwagon with the most popular players (i.e beckham) on it

English Premier League starts on the 19th August 2006. You can watch it EVERY Saturday all night commencing usually at 10.30 or sometimes at 11.30pm.

Man Utd is just a bandwagon! If you want to be a true fan pick a side that isnt the top team or the most famous one, i've always liked Man Utd but im a Blue boy!

I got foxtel but dont usually watch soccer. I watch the international ones and that. Foxtel usually get all the good stuff but sometimes alot of commercials

I'm a MAN UTD fan, and i watch every game that is on Foxtel, and get up at 7 in the morning to check the scores on the net the morning after they play, i reckon i could name every Man U player on their list, including most of the young and unknowns. And i've done this since i was 5 so don't stereotype us, because some of us are genuine!!

ps. i cannot beleive Zidane was given player of the cup after that disgraceful act!!

I still think australia is going to be left looking for the players in the age range of peak (25 - 29), we have no 20-24 year olds, a couple of decent players in A - League, but hte only Aus player that fits in is wilkshire, and none of them compare to a Kewell, or someone like Viduka who'll be retired.

Im not saying australia are good because i go for them. I say they are good because they ARE. They were up the top 16 teams in the WORLD.

Im gonna try watching as much of the EPL as i can when it starts and decide later on who i want to go for.

i used to play soccer and it was too easy so i went to rugby league. soccer is fun still tho

There are people out there that are Australian-- me. (Born in Australia) but that doesn't mean they have to go for a Australian team, people like a team because the way they play or are exciting to watch. Its a matter of choice.

I agree with IMColonel. I did the same when I used to have foxtel, now I just check the paper on a regular basis.
Eric Cantona was great back in the day.
I love my sport and yeah I wish i had foxtel again maybe next year.
