Everyone is going physco over the white PSP! God the black PSP does exactly the same thing! So what if the white PSP is slightly better built what do you intend on doing... Go skating on it down a hand rail? People only want one cause its different if only the white one PSP was released here people would want the black PSP... ITS SO STUPID!!!

the white PSP is a sophisticated piece of hardware just like the black one, i might be ordering a white psp off an ebay online store based in sydney if i buy it i hope to get it before friday, can white psp's play australian UMD movies ?

Apparently they do. The guys at my EB store said that they have tried every single available AUS UMD on a US and JPN PSP and they all work.

Yes, PSP games are region free, and UMD is supposedly region locked. Anyone try a R1/2 UMD Movie on an Aussie PSP?

This is how it goes with UMD Movies.
US PSP's play R1 UMD movies (US) and R4 UMD movies (AUS)
They only play a small amount of JPN/UK R2 UMD Movies however, like maybe 5 or 6 that are currently released. So it's pretty much only R1 AND R4.
JPN PSP's play R2 UMD Movies (JPN/UK) AND R4 AUS UMD Movies, they are however do not play R1 US movies, just like how US PSP's can't play JPN/UK MOvies.
Hope that makes sense

some asian shops in sydney CBD sell white psp. i got one same price as the black one plus my sister from japan gave me one too hehehe. i wish it was the giga pack.

sorry, i think the white one is ugly. It just doesn't match the screen. And you don't see the smudges on the white one cos it's hard to see, but all the oily crap is still there.

I've had both, and I like my white one. Doesn't show smudges either. Haven't dragged my PSP along the ground, so dirt hasn't been a problem

im still confused with what movies the white one plays. i just received one yesterday. can i play purchased movies here in aust and will it be able to play or do i need some crack to fix it?
is that the same as games? other wise WHITE PSP FOR SALE!!! =o(

Games play fine. I have a few aussie games and they all work fine. So do ones from the US. Games have no region coding, and will work worldwide.
As for movies, I haven't bought any because of their ridiculous prices.
