The Socceroos started off in bad fashion with Croatian midfielder Srna, scoring after just 3 mintues from a free kick. Soon after the Australian were on the attack looking for their opening goal. After many missed chances and a penalty disallowed, finally we scored through a Craig Moore penalty in the 39th minute. after one of the Croatian defenders hit it with his arm while attempting to clear it.
After the break it was clear that the Croatians had picked up there game and they had a great scoring chance with captian Niko Kovac stiking the ball and a little help from a mistake by stand in Australian GK, Zeljko Zalac the ball went into the back of the net giving Croatian a 2-1 lead after 56 minutes.
With just 15 minutes to go, Australia knew they needed to step their game up or be knocked out of the World Cup.. Guus Hiddink made a few changes and giving Australia the attack edge they needed.
Finally in the 79th minute, Harry Kewell scored from a close range to give Australia the draw they needed. The last 10 minutes were hectic to say the least, but Australia held on for thr draw and have progressed to the QFs against the Azzuir of Italy!
Go the Socceroos! :)!
