i've fiddled around with the Google Map downloader but the whole thing looks pretty complicated. Mite be worth waiting for the official Euro release, IF and when they'll finally release some Aussie mapping UMDs...

yeah using one right now it woudlnt be gps if it only worked in japan, sony only releaed the device , no maps yet ,you can use it in games mgspo, or you can use hombrew mapthis which works quite well, you use google maps for the maps so you can have anywhere in australia. the device it self(i paid $70 ebay) works ok when you have thing set up right, takes a while to lock onto satellites though unless its really cheap and or you very good at reading homberew guides and having a fiddle its prob not worh getting yet. have a search on youtube for psp gps
