when the new psp is finally released, the old psp is just going to be thrown out. after all no one wants to stock the old when the new is here.

id hate for you to spend $300.00 odd dollars only to realise that you could have waited and bought the new psp for around the same price.

a better option would be to find a good condition used psp and just get the accessories you really want.
