the only real advantage of the old psp over the new psp is that the old psp can be homebrewed and we dont know if the new one can be as yet

yeah i have been for a while now! the main reason for me getting a newer one will be because it is slimmer, lighter. has a longer battery life and faster loading times. TV out doesnt really bother me at all.

I really like the look of the back of the new one too, how it is shiny, not like the old one which is that flat black colour.

But oh well we will see, the missus works at a new electrical retailer in the region opening soon so i might just wait anyway....she gets cost + 5% which will make either psp cheaper to me and games etc.

well i bought my psp today. picked up a preowned one from eb for 250, main reason for getting it was that it was in good condition, it is a value pack, and its only on firmare 2.71. going to buy the new one when it comes out anyway...so yeah should i flash it back to 1.5?

Flashing 2.71 to 1.5 and custom firmware shouldnt be a problem at all. Pretty sure someone will figure out how to get custom firmware on the new psp after it's out.
