Can anyone tell me how good this feature is? [video out]psp to TV cause it would be the only reason for me to get a slim psp. Thanks indvance

Kespen says:

I can't say anything for sure...
But I think that putting an image from the PSP to a full-screen TV could stretch the image quite a bit.
But if it don't, that'd be sick.

the AV out is the oly reason im looking at the psp slim...but u think if they could have a AV out, then why not an AV in so you could record ur favorite shows?

27 Sep 2007 - 17:40 Perth

insectoid says:

because it would be too annoying to put in the recording device.

I've read a couple of reviews on the net which suggest the Video playback is really worthwhile, however games only work on certain TV's and at this stage, the game is limited to a small area on the screen...

boostn7 says:

yeah, you need the HD component cables, regular av cables wont work, and the tv has to support progressive scan

IAMColonel says:

Why not just get a proper PlayStation if you're intending on using a PSP for a PlayStation's purpose?

27 Sep 2007 - 20:01 Melbourne - Nbo says:when i git my psss im going to have a nice car an have sex in it

stonecold says:

Ok thanks for all your help guys I won't bother then my purpose was for manhunt2 to play it on the big screen.

The psp version is the only likely format to be released

27 Sep 2007 - 20:57 perth

Kespen says:

At least with the AV-out feature, you can hold a PSP without havin' to look at the sometimes awkwardly positioned screen on it...

Man, that dealextreme site is awesome. You have used it before? Seems to good to be true...

Mobe1969 says:

Well, I hope Dealextreme is on the level... I ordered a couple of things from them (including the component cable). There web site is not working this morning. I hope temporary. I shouldn't be so paranoid though - not like they set up web site and ran it for years just to rip me off of $30...

I believe the PSP output is NTSC resolution (480 lines). It can't handle PAL (576)

wutang01 says:

I just bought both Sony Composite and Component cables from ebay (shipped from Japan).

However, I wish I didn't buy the Composite now because it can only display the XMB and Videos. The Component displays XMB, Video, Backups, UMDs & Homebrew.

However, my real question is this. The cable I got was from Japan and the back of the packaging says that "the psp system outputs in the ntsc video format through this product (the cable)".

What difference does it make, if I used a NTSC component cable on a PAL TV?
