Tales of Eternia - 2/10
Got it, lovin' it so far!
EDIT: lost its fun factor pretty quick, returned it and preordered Street fighter.

Graphics: I can safely say that I am a fan of anime, and this game was great in a sense that it offered great graphics, especially in the cut scenes - i.e. the opening movie; it was as if I was actually watching an anime! In-game grahpics weren't too shabby either, but they were quite typical as in other anime-style RPG games, which I got bored of quite easily. Nonetheless, the graphics served its purpose and did not add any long load-times to the game.
Sound: not much can be said about the sound; there were no voices involved, which is typical in an RPG game - where there is alot of reading involved. Some people may find this a positive aspect to the game, but I find nowadays that there should be an option to add voice and/or subtitles to the game, whether it be an RPG or not. The soundtrack was also quite typical yet effective. Dramatic occurances brought about dramatic themed music, fight scenes brought about 'action-packed' music, etc.
Gameplay: I commend the game in this aspect, where it was not just a simple hack 'n' slash or a turn-based RPG. Attacks and defence required great concentration, where with wrong movement you could just end up receiving a death sentence. Precise timing is required which is great to see in a game. The game includes a story mode and other mini-games which slightly extends the game's lifespan, but not by much.
Replay value: not much, unless you are a die-hard fan of the 'Tales of...' series; this was the first game from the series that I had played and I didn't enjoy it much as there wasn't enough action involved.
To sum it all up, I found the game just to be plain typical of an Anime styled RPG game; and I gave up on it within the first 2 days.
I give this game a 2 out of 5 rating.
