WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2006 - 5/10
Before I start - Mika27 it’s normal to think games you suck at as being boring. No offence intended... MOVING ON!
- KYORI'S WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2006 (PSP) Review - [ 8.5 / 10 ]
Introduction:
From 'WWF Warzone' on PSX to the WWE SmackDown Series on PS2 we get the latest instalments 'WWE SD vs Raw 06'. They were all 'smash-mouth-in-your-face- games' you would enjoy individually or with friends and if neither of you or your friends knew anything about wrestling - however SD vs Raw 06 ascends to a new level in wrestling-emulated games in this instalment and with the same thrills as it's foundations.
Like any other of our favourite EA or other Sport Games - It's got Season, Exhibitions, GM modes and much more. Unlike other sport games though, WWE brings a lot of variations and dynamics of match rules such as: Elimination Chamber, Cage, Buried-alive matches OR the traditional rules OR even the newly installed bonus 'Full Fill Your Fantasy' (If you’re thinking girls and fantasy, keep thinking along that line).
If you’re a WWE fan but have no access to Cable TV, you’re in for a treat in the unique and self-proclaimed best ever seasonal mode.
Here are my thought of the 5-senses in game reviews.
Graphics [ 8 / 10 ]
With the conversion from its top quality twin brother on PS2 to the smaller format on PSP, there are repercussion to the graphics. The major difference would mostly be in the crowd quality, they are 2D-paper-poorly-pixilated-overly-repeated blobs on PSP relative to the PS2. However, if you’re a person who stares at the crowd while playing WWE – DON’T! However the actual environment and wrestling models are great.
Sound [ 6 / 10 ]
Poor in-game sound effects to limited BG tracks in the game and no commentary is one of the things I noticed first on SD vs. Raw 06. However the pre-match interlude voice recordings are second to real.
Gameplay [ 9 / 10 ]
Enhanced fighting system – gives you that extra edge in wrestling-simulation and the boost damage evaluating on your superstar. The countering-parrying system works a charm – and throwing your opponents of the top of a cage or through a table is “unlimited-hilariousity”.
Difficulty [ 7 / 10 ]
With experience through the previous sagas, you carry them into this one – which makes it not as challenging. The real challenge and fun is competing against another player. You’ll be screaming in joy or agony by the 3-count.
Value [ 8 / 10 ]
Many hours of fun will be provided. From the first week/month and the here and there play. It’s currently worth around $65-70 atm.
Overall: [ 8.5 / 10 ]
It is a must get for especially WWE fans or PSP users who just love kicking ass – or u can look at asses such as the diva girls in stripping matches.
K, over and out.
