My mate got this game the other week, so idecided to give a little bit of a test run and one word : WOW, this game SETS THE LEVEL for platforming on the psp.
Graphics: SMOOTH , SMOOTH AND MORE SMOOTH! haha, Like almost all the games in the Jakk & Daxter series this game also have those beautiful traditional nice-to-the-eyes graphics. The framerate is pretty damn good and never usually drops under 30fps. The special effects are GREAT for a handheld and i really could buy this game on graphics alone....
Sound: IT HAS VOICE OVERS! ahaha this game is great all the sounds stick to the tradition VROOM and zoom found on the older jakk and daxter games, the voice casting is SPECTACULAR! and daxter is garanteed to make you laugh your ass off from his hilarious comments!
Gameplay: Now, i'm not the BIGGEST fan of the platforming genre, but this game is just AMAZING, its gameplay is smooth and dosent feel too repetitive! there is much to do and this game will definatly last you awhile!.
Conclusion: Burnout legends is the king of racings; THIS IS THE KING OF PLATFORMERS, i seriously suggest you go all buy this masterpiece now! 5/5 from me!

best platformer on psp to date. i cant believe the new psp value packs actually come with this as a choice of your free game! i bought it for 75$ well it was worth it i guess, still haven't had time to finish the game yet
Edit: Full Review
One of my favourite games on the PSP so far. It does come with the PSP Value pack now so if you’re in the market for a PSP, grab this game as your free game because it is the best game available in the ‘free game’ offer.
Sound: Funky sound effects and real voices used in the game. I prefer real voices than murmurs (e.g. The Sims, Monster Hunter Freedom) because you don’t have to read subtitles during the game. However if you prefer subtitles, the game has this option for you. Crisp and clear sound effects are present in the game with only a little voice-to-mouth-movement sync lag (approx half a second) but that does not affect the game in any way.
Graphics: One of the best graphics I’ve seen in a PSP game thus far. A lot of attention was put into the detail of characters and the environment with no effect on load times whatsoever (load times are very minimal). The colours are very bright and vibrant which should be present in platform games that are aimed at a younger audience. A few graphical glitches here and there, but nothing too big.
Gameplay: Many many levels are available in the game which, make it very enjoyable. You get all these different add-ons/enhancements for your bug-spray as well as the chance to use vehicles such as air-scooters. One of my favourite parts of the game are the dreams that Daxter has, where you can play mini-games which are parodies of an array of movies such as the Matrix, Braveheart etc. One thing that I found annoying was that you had to always go back to the bug shop to go to sleep if you wanted to play the mini-games. Nonetheless you could play these mini-games over and over which added a lot of replay value to the game.
Load times: very minimal, approximately 5 to 10 seconds.
Overall this game has a lot of replay value and potential to be one of the year’s most successful games. It does have a PG rating but I find that even adults and an audience of a higher age group would find the game fun/entertaining. I’m glad I waited for this baby!
I give it a 4 ½ out of 5 rating.

A good game, with solid gameplay, amusing cutscenes, and interesting characters. I wasn't able to put it down until I finished it, its that good.
Best feature - The dreams. When daxter goes to sleep, you get to play mini games based on other movies/games etc. So daxter, fighting hundreds of Agent Jak.... fun! (And doing so unlocks new moves and stuff!)
A great game, suitable for all ages, I give it 4 stars for sheer awesomeness

just got it from big w- $25!!
This game is so fun! I havn't played this genre of game since banjo-kazooi on the N64-- this game is great fun, quite hard, yet not frustratingly so-- it's also hilarious- I particularly enjoy matrix dream sequences where daxter beats up endless enemies neo-style...

This is the most fun Platform/Adventure/Action game on PSP ever, only to be outdone by R&C size matters!
