Everyone raves on about Hori Screen protectors, that they are the best screen protectors in the market. I am not really a screen protector person, but because of the glare reduction feature, I decided to order a few Hori Screens from eBay to test them out.
The package arrived without any problems, it contained a screen protector and a screen wipe. So I told myself, "this is going to be simple, I don't know what those on the forums are complaining about." But I knew it was too good to be true, COZ all the instructions are in JAPANESE!!!
After a little bit of Google, I obtained a English manual translation and some tips from various forum posts, but there was nothing available which contained a step by step process with large clear pictures. I have 5 screen protectors, how hard could this be?
So I cleaned the PSP with the silky screen wipe provided.
The Screen is now spotless.
I followed "Step (1)" and peeled off the protection layer. Here is something to watch out for, be ready to apply the screen protector immediately after the removal of "Step 1", since it will gather dust from the static.
Aligning the screen protector with the PSP screen is a little difficult, but after a few tries, it works ok.
If you let the protector slide then it will get bubbles like this.
So, peel it back again and use finger to smooth the protector and get rid off the bubbles.
If you stuffed up, you can use a little bit of tape and take the screen protector back out.
My Psp had a beautiful black screen before the modification, now it has this piece of plastic. Aesthetically, for a perfectionist like me, it really bothers me when there is a speck of dust or a bump on the screen.
When I took it a test run in the sun, the glare is reduced, but not dramatically, I still can't concentrate fully in the bright sunlight. In-doors when the screen is on, the screen protector is really good, it doesn't even feel like it is there.
If you are a normal person, and want protection, this solid and high quality piece of plastic will be all you need. But it won’t protect you from a high velocity impact, or a nail gun… If tiny little dust bubbles doesn’t really bother you, you will have the best screen protection, and a slight glare reduction. I think it is worth buying if you need it.
