your point being ..............
and any way ur not paying for the extra componts u r paying for some guy to figure out how to make that much memory into something that small if u get my drift

Id rather buy an Ipod than a 4g. Because think bout it. Most likely your getting the 4g for music/videos, so instead buy a Ipod Nano/Video for around the same price and you get to use it for the same thing, except you have a whole other device to show off.

My point, lil'man is that its already figured out, and theyve more than covered the expenses for that guy to work it all out. The $200 price hike is just cream for sony, greedy stars!

Funny how for $120 you can get 2 x 2GB duos, and one 4gb for $400... I sure know what im buying

24 Jun 2006 - 16:28 California, Melbourne, Yavin 4

Huey says:

but are the 2x 2GB memory sticks genuine; if they're off ebay (sony ones i'm referring to) then they're definitely fakes. but if you can find sandisk 2Gb for $120 then i'd go for 2x 2GB's.. but i guess some people prefer having just the 1x 4GB so it saves them from having to switch between cards

25 Jun 2006 - 00:13 Melbourne, Victoria

franki3 says:

Yes fake ones, cant notice the difference really. In the long run im sure there will be a difference. But still, as you say, even getting 2 x sandisk duos is cheaper.

Sure everyone would rather a 4gb, but as expected, release prices are very high.

25 Jun 2006 - 01:53 California, Melbourne, Yavin 4

Huey says:

yeah; i actually found some Sandisk Ultra II 2GB for 98$ on eBay with the additional 8$ for postage.. and the seller is within australia! tempted to buy one. or two.. lol

the difference between teh fakes and real sony ones are that you can use atrac3plus on real ones, they are faster than the fakes and they have less storage capacity than fakes. i dont mind just using mp3 files but i prefer atrac3plus as they compress it to half the size of mp3 but without decreasing the quality; only down side to atrac3plus is the amount of time it takes to convert them

be aware that there are fake sandisk's as well

25 Jun 2006 - 02:56 Perth

Huey says:

not as many as the sony ones; i've bought 3 sandisk memory sticks in total off ebay and they were all genuine. the sony ones however, i have bought a total of 2, all of which were non-genuine

25 Jun 2006 - 03:29 Melbourne, Victoria

Renmazuo says:

There are a LOT of fake Sandisks, mostly the blue Duos and the Ultra's. The only ones that are hard to fake the translucent neon blue Gaming Sticks, so those are safe for the moment.

25 Jun 2006 - 12:44 Melbourne, Victoria

Huey says:

serious? all the sandisk ones i've bought were genuine, i could use atrac3plus and they were performing faster than the original sony one that my brother has.

25 Jun 2006 - 12:54 Melbourne, Victoria

Renmazuo says:

Yeah, I thought Sandisks were pretty safe until I came across several articles showing the differences between fake and genuine Sandisks, I was shocked at how good the copies were!

You probably got a real one Huey, I'm just a bit paranoid after scoring fake Sony MDR-V700DJ's off ebay. I now believe there are a LOT of fake PSP batteries as well, the ones with extra 20% capacity.

What's next, POP's that actually function like PSPs?

25 Jun 2006 - 13:31 Melbourne, Victoria

Huey says:

yeah my Z700's are real, i can tell the difference and read up on the difference between real vs. fake ones. also; i got a high capacity (20% up) battery off ebay too, but from DJaye. it's not lasting as long as it should be at the moment but DJaye says to give it more charges to optimize it to its full capacity. thing is i'm only getting 3 hours of game play with it, where as my original battery lasts for 4 hours

with the high capacity battery, after 50 minutes - 1 hour of playing monster hunter, i lose 1 bar of battery already.. where as with the original one that came with my value pack, it lasts 1 and a half hours before i lose 1 bar of battery. i dont know why it's taking so long to get the battery to optimzed battery capacity
