My PSP - pixel problems.

Sup peeps.

I've been reading up about the whole dead/stuck pixel problems and seem to have some on my own PSP - 8 visibly dark pixels.

The thing is, after running a homebrew app that displays red, green, blue, white and black screens ... it seems the pixels in question are only problematic when blue is displayed (ie. clear as a bell for the other colours, 8 problem ones when only blue is shown).

Does that mean the pixels are still 'dead' because they don't react to blue (but do to the others?) or are they stuck? If dead ... I'll goto Sony and get it all fixed. If they're stuck ... I'll actually try that screen 'flickering' solution to 'massage' the pixels (which I've heard can actually work) ... but I don't really want to leave my PSP on all night flashing constantly ... I can image it might do as much damage as good.

Any help would be awesome

Ive run it, and if theyre stuck, itll give them a boot. I cant imagine any damage being done tho, itll just be like playing it all night! I actually ran the movie for 2 hours, on X 3 (fast play) mode, and it made 3 come alive, but still a couple of dead ones that sony dont care about...

Yeah I suppose leaving it on should be alright - will give it a test tonight and see how it goes =)

Thats pretty bad 8 pixels could be because you running a illegal program my advice is to format your memory stick and take it back where you bought it from.I think its the program that made it stuck because as you said its only when blue is displayed you'll have to find out first

if it was new i would make the shop give u one without stuck or dead pixels

that thing is only a video not hb so its okay m8...i think sony have a policy if ur pixels affects 'your gameplay experience' they will get u another...i think

Yeah junglecat, I read some variations on it the replacement due to pixel issues ...

They seem to be treating it on a case-by-case sort of basis ... not even 'if it's over 10 deadies' or what have you. To quote a Sony rep, 'If you find the spots are interfering with gameplay/video viewing during this period, we will support the various elements of [the PSP] warranty,'
