thats because (like monster hunter) you have to play it for a while to get its full potential.
Its also got a really good story-line that makes you want to play it more. and the characters have lots of personality. I think the reviews were bad because when you walk around (outside towns and special places) you get into battles as much as you would in the grass in pokemon. Which isn't a bad thing, because the battles are like final fantasy tactics advance.

Honestly this was da best game i have ever played.. if u luv FFVII or any rpg games or any fantasy games u have to play this one... he grows up saving his mom, dad and sister and develops new powers and collects money thru his journey to buy equipment n learn new powers. iF u shuD buY thiS game n try it out... 4.7 out of 5 for me!
