I would've thought that the PSP 100*s would still get updates to play the latest games but would not come with stuff that will be going on the new PSP....just have to wait and see......this is turning out to be a bit of a thread rather than news.........

The only worry I have is if games come out for the PSP later on that require a firmware higher then 3.52 mean that I have to buy the new PSP, which I won't be doing any day soon because I'm just sick of how Sony treats its customers. Hopefully some sort of devhook or custom firmware might be able to shine some light on the old PSPs.
