A few days ago i brought a psp, as soon as i got home i put it on charge and left it for about 3 hours.

After the 3 hours mentioned above i started it up and was greeted with a screen that wanted me to set it up.

After setting it up i remembered i didn't buy a memory stick, silly me so i turned it off, went to the store and ended up buying a sony 2gb stick.

When i got home i put the stick in and turned it on and noticed a few dead pixels (about 6 or 8) scattered on the screen.
When it was operational i formatted the stick, no problems.

i then went to the usb connection icon and selected it and plugged in my cable, i waited for about 3 minutes then left it to take a leak and was away from it for about 2 to 4 minutes.

When i returned it had'nt moved from the main menu screen thinking i did'nt press the button properly i pressed it again to no avail, so i talked to a friend on msn and he said to reset it (hold down power for 10 seconds)

i did this and saw the screen go blank.
i then waited around 2 minutes and tried to switch it back on but got no greeting not even a green light

i plugged it on to the ac adapter and left it for 15 minutes then tried to start it again still no go.
i then relised the memory stick was still inside so i removed it but yet it still doesn't want to go.

Was it pre-owned? If so i don't doubt about the dead pixels, unless something touched the screen or you did, but about the other thing, either you were very unlucky or you bricked it (doubtful, very very doubtful)

no the psp is brand new and i nor anyone else has put any pressure on the screen at all.

i don't think i bricked it, doesn't that only happen when you mess around with firmware?

well all up i've payed about $350 dollars with an extra 2 years warranty so i think they'll replace it without a fight.

Actually when i look at it, A lot of my friends malfunctioning stuff seems to come from DSE, thats the worst part about the products at my dicksmith, they have so much old stuff at high prices, even red faction for like $70

At least they've got decent parts though!

and yes, i also think sony is a load of ****....they used to be sooo good but there are soo many reports of them making faulty things...specially the ps3, how they have taken away ps1 functionality from it...pathetic if you ask me...but still, i'll always be a sony lover

They still have the game Chrome (PC - which is awesome) for 90! And I got it at Big W for 10... what a killer saving!

That said, If the PSP can emulate the ps1 flawlessly, then the Ps3 is more then capable by software means, so i think the ps3 will be playing ps1 games in no-time.
