hey i have official firmware 3.90 i just recieved a pandora battery can someone please explain or link me to a guide for downgrading my formware or putting custom firmware on it thanks......i have a slim btw

oh yep, your best bet is to use the total newbie installer found here dl.qj.net/ its a large file but is the easiest way to do this, you also need a memory stick bigger than 32mg and smaller than 4gb

Ok click on the icon that says START
press any key to continue
then format your memory stick via the system setting on your psp xmb
then type the drive letter of your psp eg F
then take out your memory stick
then turn usb off
put memory stick back in and enable usb connection
then wait for menu to come up and press 4
then follow on screen instructions
you should now have a magic memory stick

you then remove your battery and memory stick from your psp, put your pandora in and wait for a green light to come on, once it does put in your magic memory stick, options should come up, press the button that says install 3.71 i think, and then just follow the on screen instructions, once it has finished and rebooted you will have cfw

or you can use the update firmaware application on your xmb, it will do your cfw now

and when i used the universal unbricker i noticed it said "this should be used as a last resort" , should i be using the unbricker to apply the 3.71 or is it better to set up a seperate magic stick for each of the psp's ?

you just need to have despertar cementerio V4 it works for both with the exact same files...I think the earlier versions had trouble with the slims screen and you had to install the firmware "blind".
