Playstation 3 - 10/10

Sony's Playstation 3 has opened up a new world of gaming, media and communication to the whole world. With previously consoles made by Sony all being smash hits, the expectatins and hype was massive for Sony's new piece of technology. Starting off with a smaching price at $1000 in Australia, this value pack featured the console itself, two controllers and two games (Motorstorm, Resistance).




The Playstation 3 immedietly gets your attension with its sleek and shiny look it, finished off with a stunning chrome trim (40,60 and 80GB only). You are able to purchare the Playstation 3 in Black, White, Silver. But looks arn't why the people brought this console. It features 20, 40, 60 and 80 GB hard drives, which were replacable with the standard laptop/desktop hard drive. With touch/heat senstive on/off, eject buttons, you are told to set your date and time to the PS3 system. As it starts up you will see the PSP's cross media bar come into place. The console has and outer 4 USB ports (20, 60 and 80GB) or 2 USB ports (40GB), which are used to charge wirelss bluetooth devices, such as controllers, headsets etc. You are also able to tranfers Pictures, Music and Videos to your Playstation 3 using a USB. The 60 and 80GB also have a built in flash drive which is other way of tranfering files to the system. Each of the Playstation 3 consoles are compatible with Playstation 1 games and the 20, 60 and 80GB's are also compatible with Playstation 2 games.


The controller for the Playstation 3 has kept the basic design of the previous controllers made. The controller is now a bluetooth wireless device, which means you can play where ever u plead. Though the prototype for the controller was like a banana shape, that idea was scaped later on in production. The R2 and L2 buttons now act like more of a trigger as they go down on about a 45 degree angle as you press it down. A new added button is the PS button (Playstation Button) which has the Playstation logo on it. It allows you to turn off and on the console and controller, aswell as some other features. One of the new fantastic features is the SIXAXIS, which allows the user to play using motion sensoring controls, games which used motion sensored are Warhawk, Motorstorm, Grand Theftu Auto 4 and much more. Though this controller did not feature a rumble pack, so Sony introduced the Dual Shock 3 which had better functioning buttons and analog sticks and as well as the rumble pack. Though this controller is heavier then the SIXAXIS controller.





One of the greatest features of the Playstation 3 is the online content avaible and best of all it is free. It allows you to game, chat and send messages to your friends, use the internet browser and go on the Playstation Store, which allows you to acess Playstation Network Games, Demos, Videos and many other marvellous features. Games which feature online such as Warhawk, Call of Duty 4 and Resistance and much more all have great online gaming, featuring a number on various types of matches to join into.

By owning a PS3 and PSP you are able to take the Remote Play into use. This allows you to control your Playstation 3 from your PSP. You are able to play music, see pictures watch videos and even play certain games that you have on your Playstation 3on your PSP even if you are no where near you Playstation 3 remote play can still be used affectively with internet access.





All in all if you are in need of some stunning entertainment and want to experience new technology at its best, look no further then the Playstation 3. With stunning graphics, seeming never ending features and never before seen online gameplay you cant go wrong. If you have about $700 spare lying in your bank account, i would suggets to go and grab yourself a copy and experience Next-Generation gaming at its best.
