Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower - 5/10
This game is good fun for the most part, and an amazing conversion (it's actually based on an old Dreamcast port) but there's one problem, the PSP pad is based on the PS2 pad, which itself was never ideal for Capcom style 'fireball' movements. The PSP pad even more so you see, so to pull off such moves in this game is suprisingly hard.
The sound is wonderful and the graphics crisp and sharp, but it's not much good when you keep getting your head thwacked because that amazing move you can normally do with your eyes closed just WILL NOT WORK!
My advice - either try before you buy or check and make sure you can take it back for a full refund if you don't like it. You'll be impressed by the game, yes, but you may be suprised how unfair it feels when your fave move fails to work for the 100th time through no fault of your own. Shame really, if Capcom had changed the controls to account for the d-pad I'd give this game 9 or maybe even 10 out of 10, as otherwise it really is a stellar title. But, as it is, I can only give it 6. It's above average (5), but it feels too unfair too often.
