Bleach: Heat the Soul 2 - 4/10
it's not coming to Aus (well not that I know of). I got the Jap version imported and its great, good cell shaded graphics in a 3D atmosphere. Alot of combo's to try out and plenty of fighting!
EDIT: @ LazyMuthaFuka - I wouldn't suggest that you get a white psp, sure they may look different and hot at first, but after a while they tend to turn yellowish (like most white things). but if you want to, i'd suggest to get it from an ebay seller who lives in sydney/melbourne.
EDIT #2:
Thought I’d write a full review on this game. Although this game hasn’t hit Australia/Europe or even the U.S. yet, it is a big hit in Japan. I ordered my copy off eBay and loved it. Haven’t played it in about a month but that’s because of the new games that have been released – not because it’s a bad game.
Sound: Most voices are in Japanese but the commentary is in English (e.g. Ready, FIGHT!.. Can you survive? Etc.) The voices of the characters are done by the voice-actors of the actual anime, which was good because I’m a huge fan of the Bleach anime, and if other voices were used, I would have been like “what the bleep???” The sound effects are great; typical anime style sound effects used for the sound of wind from swords swaying around, great sounds of swords clashing together and the sound used for special moves were identical to those of the anime too.
Graphics: One of the best features of the game is the graphics; 3D cell-shaded graphics were used instead of 2D graphics found in most anime fighting games. I loved the effects that this made, as the environment was a 3D environment, it gave the anime scene a whole new feeling. Not much needs to be said about the graphics other than, superb!
Gameplay: Not a typical fighting game where you can just mash any keys together and hope that you end up winning. This game takes very precise movement and attacks as well as defence. One wrong move and you could be seeing the end of Ichigo’s sword coming at you for a fierce combo attack – combos in the game are quite hard to master, but fun nonetheless. There is a single player mode, ad-hoc vs. mode, time attack and also survival. There are mini-games and little animation scenes to be unlocked, as well as hidden characters; Yorouichi being my favourite of the hidden characters. The bad factor of the game I found was NO BANKAI MODE! This has not been included (same as the first game from the series).
As a fighting game, it doesn’t have as much replay value as what you’d find in an RPG. But picking up the game every now and then is quite fun. A great game for a true Bleach fan!
I give this game a 4 out of 5 rating.
