NFL Street 2 Unleashed - 5/10
This is the 3rd game i have recieved for my PSP.There is several modes of gameplay which are somewhat similar to eachother but still enjoyable to play.Ontop of this for most modes you can construct your own team with custom appearances to give the game your own personal flare. Some of the modes are own the city,Nfl challenge and nfl gauntlet.
I must say that i was a little reluctant to buy the game from seeing screenshots of it, it tended to look outdated and low in detail. When i started playing with it though i was quite suprised to find that it is quite good and graphics looks just as nice as gamecube.
One of the only things that i really didnt like is there is no reply section like on consoles, so many times i have done the best run or best tackle and i go to check for replay and there isnt one
.
The gameplay is slightly hard to get used to if you have played the console versions or if you have not even played it before. But like everything , you will get used to it with time and it will begin to feel like second nature. You are also given a fairly decent amount of plays for offense you get, run plays, pass plays, trick plays and for defense you get stop run, long pass, short pass defense plays, all of which are not too complicated to understand.
Not much is different from the console versions besides the minigames, some of which are quite fun. My favourite is the catching game where you and 2 other fight to catch 3 balls thrown by 3 COM quarterbacks. In total there is 9 minigames , some fun ,some not.And its your dream come true, no ,not free psp games, you can now make NFL players dance with eachother in a dance off minigame so whenever you have an urge to make nfl guys dance...NOW YOU CAN!
On a downside you can sometimes become frustrated with the game if you get your ass whooped but like in all games this is invetitable.
Like i previously mentioned graphics are not as outdated as they seem in previews and the intro movie clip is quite enjoyable and daunting to watch ,as it shows off all the special moves you can perform.
The sound if one of my personal favourites ,the game has some great music ,all of which can be previewed in the EA trax in the options. The music is well suited to the gameplay and keeps in rhythm. The only minus here is that there is no longer voice overs done by players, but this is not really noticed. The game sfx themselves are almost as great as the music. When someone gets tackled you KNOW they have been tackled , you hear this great pummle sounds ,you can almost feel the tackle.
Lasting is also a good mention, since you can vary the game play vastly and there is a huge array of unlockables it is enough to keep you playing for a long time.
I give this game a 8.8/10
