a cat would bring more in WC, you don't watch enough cartoons.
Try isolating your dog at night in the room wherever the doggy door is. and on the other side of the doggy door try to isolate a say 3x3m space for him/her to piss or whatever, try to put chicken wire around the isolated space. keep this for around 3 weeks and see what happens.
this has happened to my cousin before and we tried this and it worked.
if this doesn't work, email that dr harry guy. seriously, that's what my cousin did and he gots a reply in around 1 week.

That reminds me of my cat when we kicked it out of the house 'cause we were sick of his fur getting everywhere! What else can one do?! My dog used to bark when we forced her into a cot overnight, it was painful to the ears but eventually she'd get bored and stop. Have you tried leaving your dog alone for about an hour?
