I have 2 Zippo's frome Vietnam. The Vietcong (spelling?) would scalp them off the dead American GI's. Also, Vietnamese brothels considered them of value, and would trade headjobs and roots (jiggy jiggy) for them. (true story)

The 2 I have are real banged up, and was told they were from downed aircraft officers, and has their company engraved in it.

In one of my Zippos, If you open the top of a ZIPPO (as you would to light it) you see a chimney type thing, with holes drilled in it. The Zippos from Pot/grass smokers cut a section from the chimney so they could get the flame close in to the cones, when they smoked bongs.

Also *interesting note* You can tell the age of your Zippo according to the XXXII digits in the base. The 2 Vietnam zippos I have were valued at 180 bucks a piece (8 years ago) I got em for 5 bucks each

They where gifts and last a long time, lighter fluid is pretty cheap though n beats the ordinary lighters. I dont smoke but they are always handy and for impressive tricks!

Nickop. . . . Zippos have a lifetime warranty, go to their website, get their address, and mail it to them, and they will give it a complete service/repair (including new wadding, flint, and wick, and post it back to you for free).

Yeah, the weathers full on, but I am climatised to it, after being in Cairns for the last 2 years.

Hang on to those Zippos, they are worth a lot if they are in good condition, and are authentic veitnam war reclics

I have new ones as well (Plain Silver x Plain Gold finish), the other 2 are collectables (considered war relics), and are never used.

Heres a tip for you, you can store spare flints by lifting the wad where you squirt the fuel, and put the flints underneath. (actually, you will see a hole in the middle of that flap, you are supposed to insert a spare flint into it).

I dont sleep nbo!!! Dont you dare, seriously you have wrecked a few thread because of your comments so dont let it happen again. To answer your q Zippos range from anywhere between $25 to around $5000 depending on the metal and rarity. There are some ones even more expensive that are 24 carat gold but they aint mass produced or even produced.

Be very very careful about buying lighters overseas! If heard reports of fake Zippo lighters exploding when lit after a few times, i think the company is called Star Lighter Company or something like that. These products are found in Asia especially where counterfeit products are large and easily accessable.
