Social \ Disney pulling out of McDonalds

Disney is caving into the claims of court action against them from U.S. parents if they don't sever their ties with McDonalds. It seems, according to all these people, that the only reason chidren get McDonalds is for the Happy Meal - which comes with a toy: a Disney toy.

There are 2 views on this:

1) Disney is being a good corporate citizen and doing the right thing.
2) It shows the lack of control on the parent's behalf for being unable to say no to their children's (im guessing) relentless pleas to have Maccas.

This could be a massive upset for Maccas even after they've gone healthier. And with one of their major demographics pulling out, it is possible that they could, only a possibility, face bankruptcy (since all recognised cartoon characters are from Disney) This in turn would end the good work they do like the Ronald McDonald House etc. Im not a big fan of Maccas but I don't mind eating them once in a way.... why should I not have this choice (should they close down) when the parents don't have enough control over their own children?!

Although logical: take away the choice, then your forced into one thing. But shouldn't the parents take more responsibility of what their 'kids' eat? If they are being given pocket money and get Macs - maybe the parents need to make the time to make their kids lunches?

What do you think?

yeah I work at Mc'donalds, any questions you want to know about our evil sceems, ask em here! You're right some responisibility should come down to the parents but maccas marketing to kids and doing thier best to drag em in. As for ronald mcdonalds house, sure they're giving something back but what they're taking is hundred times more than this. I liken it to giving an Iraqi a Big Mac and taking his house.

Just another case of parents shifting their responsibilities onto someone/something else... 'its not our fault our kid's fat, its everyone elses'.. ****ing pathetic.

No one forces kids to buy maccas, they do so out of their own free will. This s**ts me so much .....
