Here try this either if u r just puttin a dvd and pressin the power button and doesnt work, than try doin this: On ur PS2, eject the tray, put ur dvd in, press the power button, when tray closes hold power button to off the PS2 so their is a red light on the power button, than when it has a red light, hold the power button for bout 10 - 15 seconds so it on's and loads and then after that few seconds let go of the power button and see if it plays the DVD. Thats how i play my DVD's. Hope it works.
