Just buy a DS Lite man, you'd have to be really unlucky and not very careful to get it stolen.... The DS lite isn't too bulky at all.... It fits in the pocket MUCH better than the PSP..... The DS can play GBA aswell so why have a GBA/micro if you have a DS?
