When the PSP first came I went to big W to look at the price. They had it for $394, plus if you bought a game then and there they'd give you $20 off the game price.

I went to Eb to see if they'd match it, but they said it was a bundle deal (which it wasnt) and they could only match the price of the console. So the dickhead was trying to convince me that I'd be getting a good deal by them matching the price of the unit but me buying a full price game there.....

Another time I rang up GW to ask the price of a game, the guy goes $69.95 but I'll do it for $67 for you. I hung up.

I'm wondering what other people's experiences of weird sales pitches have been

I love salespeople! I love messing with them. The best fun you can ever have is haggling with such people. Love the frustration and then getting whatever you want.

But in all honesty, don't you want to understand how these people try to foll the rest of us into buying things we don't need (this is in general). And when it comes to games, if you don't know what to get, rent instead of buy unless you really know what you want!
