i was against my gf picking one up but she did; she gave it to me to fiddle around with to get the quality up but as iPods are... the quality is crap-house. you can't use your own customised equaliser settings, you have to use the pre-set equalisers that are already on them (e.g. pop, jazz, rock etc..)..and even then the sound is still pretty crap. there's also no SRS, no bass-boost, no WOW etc.. i wouldn't waste my money on an iPod, for what you're spending on a 2GB one, you could just spend a lil more and get yourself with 6GB storage and shatloads better sounding than an iPod. e.g. iRiver E10. if you're getting an mp3 player for the looks then sure, get an iPod.. but if you want something for sound quality, don't touch iPods.
