Social \ Gotta Question(Not About PS3 VS. Xbox)

Ok heres how it all starts.....
2 months ago my ps2 screwed up,leaving me with only my psp to play with, now its a great machine but its no ps2 ill say that. Ok so my ps2 screwed up and i decided to save for a ps3 and ive saved moderately over the past few months and can get it by the time november comes......But then something terrible happens,Sony screws us over and delays it, Now im stuck with no console to play with unless I have 2 choices 1.Buy a Xbox360 or 2.Buy a slimline ps2.....again, Now the next gen consoles have some good games but Im really only buying one of them for the one game i want 'GTA IV' now this is the problem which will be better,which will be more reliable,which will be easier to obtain? im not sure whether it will be on a HD-DVD or Blu Ray disk, so with the xbox What will happen? im blabbing on and im starting to confuse myself now. Just tryin to decide what to buy Ps2 Slimline or Xbox360 Money isnt a issue due to ive been saving for ages. Answers Greatly appreciated!

P.S With San Andreas on Xbox, Are the Controls good not annoying or anything and it comfortable to play how about the buttons? can some owners of this game tell me what its like, once again answers greatly appreciated.

I have had beef with this kid i think he just enjoys arguing,
Although i do strongly disagree with what you said about the 360, there are plenty of decent games around

And in answear to patty if you were to get a 360 saints row would take your mind off GTA for a while, and i believe San andreas if backwards compatible. the controlls are fine in my opinion.
And for my last bit of advice id definatly invest into the next gen console rather than purchase a current gen.
If you can find a good bundle deal on a 360 im sure u cud find a cheap slim ps2 second hand
