Google it.

Basically, it allows you to have a second firmware loaded on your psp.

That way, by pressing something when your psp starts up, or by having it set as a default, you can bring up a menu, letting you choose between your existing psp's firmware, or the firmware on the modchip.

The modchip is useful, as it can be used to unbrick psps, and use homebrew whenever you want. Also, you can reflash it via usb.

Or something like that. Trying to keep it simple

Yes. And you have to solder.

Its much easier to either a) Buy one of their pre-done ones.
b) Send yours to them, and they'll do it for you.
c) Solder it in yourself (Not for beginners)
