anybody here use(d) linux or even know what it is im using one that runs of a cd i think it's called SLAX

wow...thats a coicidence. im trying out ubuntu as a webserver at the moment. If your use to windows, and intend to use linux as a all purpose machine (games web browser media apps etc) dont waste your time...its really hard to use, gets me really frustrated at times. However if you have a good computer it runs really well. Ubuntu is the easiest to use distro which comes with GNOME; or if u like KDE use kubuntu

im just going to use LiveCd's coz im not ready to fully go into Linux, im downloading a pretty good distribution: PcLinuxOS (big daddy v .93)

Knoppix is alright. I use that occasionally. I also use 'BackTrack' for my err... Security Auditing needs, and quite a few other distros.

I'm a bit of a fan of Ubuntu at the moment, but my first copy of linux was mandrake (slackware). Its also the first linux I worked out how to get Quake 2 running on. Good times....

Several useful linux boot cds to have handy...

Knoppix
GeeXbox (Instantly turn your computer into a media centre using a bootable 8mb cd, and have it return to normal when you're finished? okay!)

linux is not on psp...yet.

its on ipods...waiting...its also on xbox's....waiting...give it time linux will be on psp soon enough...maybe even the gp2x firmware which is linux
