Social \ Wireless Router Security Help

hi all i just bought a new laptop with a wireless router and im on my laptop trying to setup up a connection and im in the wizard now and im wondering is there any security? and how can you add it?

you mean WEP or WPA?

you do that at the router not in windows. routers have a http connection for them...

usually the ip is 192.168.1.1 by default, read the routers book for the default password.

ok whats the most secure security? well im on the dlink web configuration setup thingy and i have to type network id, channel, security, encryption and all this other stuff what do i do?

WPA is the strongest security... I also have dlink, Didnt set it up though, got someone else to do it so yer...

ok well i have set up a connection with WPA-PSK and now my problem is ive connected to it with my laptop now the problem is when i go into ie it wont load sites?

WEP can be hacked, WPA is better.

PP setup your laptop's network again, and put the WPA key in

good question melad i dunno really i think its just the router its a DI-524 Linkage

i just have it hooked up to my broadband modem and jc i changed it to wpa-psk the atk encryption or something? yeah my psp is having trouble getting to the internet through it aswell
