Social \ 2 internet connections

ive got my desktop computer hooked up wit dial up and i wanna hook it up on my new laptop but i wanna be able 2 use both at the same time any1 got any ideas on how i can use both at the same time on the 1 phone line? also any1 know of ne good anti virus protection programs that update themselvs and that r free???? please help me!!

you can easily setup a shared dial up connect, you jsut need to have the laptop networked to your desktop.

the magic word is 'bridge' here. You have to bridge the dial up connection over the network. So google around for a guide on how to set that up...my network use to be just 1 shared dial up connecter...unti lwe got adsl... those were bad days...bad days...

No i am gratefull for all i get and certainly wouldnt let my computer go to waste from a virus. Unlike a 13 yr old they think they can get there parents to get them anything they want and most of the time not gratefull

Plus if it did get outdated, well it wouldnt be my fault... Im not on the computer 24/7 like SOME people. I have a job to do and a family to live with. I dont waste all my time on the computer.

u cant network over two computers with dialup, even if you could the speed would be at a snail's pace, when u have adsl then u will be able to do it

Actually, you CAN network two computers with dialup, I used to do it prior to ADSL coming out. At the time I had linux running on an old Pentium 100 and used that to dial up the connection, then the other computers in the house can share the connection. I also had an old Airport base station that had a modem inside it that essentially did the same thing.

It is possible.

You may also be able to do it with Connection Sharing too.
