what ever u get dont get DODO

read this article
www.smh.com.au/

A prime example of the catches and caveats that snare unwary shoppers is the $9.90 "fast broadband" scheme promoted by Dodo. For starters, this rate assumes you'll bundle your landline phone calls through Dodo, otherwise the price immediately doubles to $19.90

The real trap is that users are permitted only a minuscule 150MB of downloads a month, and only 100MB of this is available in what Dodo terms the "peak" hours outside 1am to 9am. You'll chew through this download allocation just by keeping your software up to date, let alone sending or receiving emails with photo attachments or downloading files.

Once past that 100MB peak allowance, Dodo hits customers with an excess usage fee of 18c a megabyte (counting sent email as well as downloads in the tally) up to the plan's limit of $99, which is about 550MB - barely adequate for any broadband beginner. After that, the line speed is cut back to 64kbps (a little faster than dial-up) until the next month kicks in and the meter is reset. Finally, the set-up fees range from $50 to $150 and lock you into a contract with Dodo for up to three years.

very dodgy plan

check ur home number in bc.whirlpool.net.au/
to see if your area has ADSL2+
ADSL2+ is alot faster than ADSL1 and most times cheaper as well

speaking from a security (and legal) point of view i would be VERY careful in entering any private info into a site without the actual site having security measures in place. the above link takes you to a site where you can type in your phone number, however before you do that just heed this advice.

look down the bottom right corner of your screen. 'responsible' sites when they ask you for private information will have a little lock which lets you know that the information you provide is encrypted, i.e. no one can intercept your private info. this site hasnt got that.

this means when you put your phone number in, someone else can intercept this info and together with your I.P. address they can find ANYTHING about you.

i am speaking from experience here guys.
