Ok, I am about to fix up my PC with some of the latest things to be compatible with vista and i need to know a few things.

I know there are 2 types of Graphics card which is G6 or something else i forget the name of. I need to know the name of the thing i forget and which one i will need. I know they need to be compatible with your PC but how do i find out? My motherboard type? I also need 1gb of ram

And how do i install it? I know RAM just clicks in but im not sure bout the GFX card.

There are many types of graphics cards, but i think your referring to different slots that they can go into, wether your card is an Nvidia or ATI there are two mainstream card slots they fit into, depending on how new or old your motherboard is, you'll need an AGP slot or a PCI-express slot (pci-express is the newer one), you'll probably need to read your motherboards manual to find this stuff out.

As for the Ram, it just clicks into the RAM slots, but these can differ to depending on the slots in your motherboard, however most computers use DDR2, but if your computers newer or more high end it might use a different slot.

The rather pathetic computer in my bedroom (by todays standards) I build myself using a case a friend of mine found by the side of the road and a wide gallery of spare parts I have. Cards are not hard to install at all. Simply pop your case off, unscrew the plate on the slot you would wish to place the card then gently push the card into position, screw it back on and replace your case. Oh and be sure to turn off the mains to the computer before touching anything inside. We certainly don't want any dead forumers here now do we.
