It came as not so much of a surprise to me having noticed all these new rating systems and whatnot being released ever since that little hassle with San Andreas what seems to be years ago.

My brother was simply flicking though the weekly K-mart junk mail and happened to say to me "Whoa, Vice City Stories must be a pretty nasty game." So I took a look at what he was on about and noticed an R 18+ label next to it. I thought at first it must have been a printing error due to the fact that R rated games are supposed to be not allowed for sales in Australia, at least not a few years ago, but looked up to the the PS2 section and noticed the PS2 version of Liberty City Stories also with that black R label.

This isn't really the end of the world but I thought that it's a rather interesting find anyway.

Well - I agree with Joel that games should have R ratings - allows the mature people to get what they deserve instead of some watered down crap....And people need to take better notice of what games their own children play or are accessing.

Kmart doe not stick those labels on.... they now come with them printed on the cover.

R ratings should be there, but it does add the incentive for younger players to try and get the game simply because it has a high rating.

And parents don't do much about controlling what their kids play, my parents have no idea, only that I just spent $80 on some "game" for that thing they got me for my birthday.
