i think you mean a MSWMM file
Micro soft Windows Movie Maker.

If you used to do what i do, you are meant to save the file.

In the taks menu, go to the 3rd thingy, and the first one should say 'save movie to the computer'
save it the the computer, and it will be automatically saved as a wmv file. then simply use that when you upload to youtube.

EDIT: if you need to know more, just PM me here

When you upload then youtube automatically converts it to flv format and I'm sure the same thing happens on myspace. I don't know why people bother touching WMM though because it's one awful program. Highly buggy and end results are often poor.

EDIT: Looks like you need to finalise you movie first though. That's why it is not working.

and i tell you its not poor, although its a nintendo movie so i dont expect you to enjoy it....

anyway i think you are trying to upload the actuall program file. like the file that you open to get your storyboard, you need to save it itself as a video file

Made an edit to my original post and I can't watch that video because I'm capped for the next two days. The point I'm making is that programs like Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio 9 stand out to be far greater unless all you want to do is add some poorly blurred text or cut and join clips of film up. Using WMM drives me insane at school because it's tendency to crash every five minutes.

mmm, i must admit, i have to keep task manager open.

But hey, its free, its simple, and if you are creative enough, you can do tricky things

If you have the time that is...

I agree with Abuu - I used Vegas (sound and movie) and never looked back. It's one awesome program. But I wish I figured out Adobe Premier... that seems really neat.. just like photoshop - if only I take the time out to learn more... someday soon. Maybe next weekend or something.

Premier Elements is an excellent program for home users. Gives great effects. Final results look very Pro. I've moved to Mac now and am using Final Cut which is far superior to anything I have used before.
