i think it was the greatest games ever produced because it introduced the world to electronic (graphical) games

Well it would seem that the readers of Edge Magazine were huge Nintendo fanboys. Here's my opinion on each game (if anyone pays attention to the rants of a bitter gamer from the 16 bit era )
1. Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time: This game is one of the biggest sellers of all time and yes it was one of the first to really nail the fully 3d rpg engine that we see so much of today but number 1 of all time that's a stretch in anyone's book
2. Resident Evil 4: Sorry unless you never played the series before this incarnation this game is boring. At this stage I was over the series, at least the voice acting improved. "where...is...Barry?"
Ahhh running out of space...
3. Super Mario 64: Again kudos has to be given for introducing a fully 3d engine to the platforming game arena but the fact is it has been done so many more times and so much better. It just doesn't deserve to be 3 on the list of "best of all time".
4. Half Life 2: Game still played by the best and most hardened gamers going around. Deserved to be higher.
5. Super Mario World: hey this was the game that introduced a generation to video games and took gaming mainstream. Respect must be given
6. Zelda: A Link to the Past: Ok well self confessed fan of this title, great use of 16 bit sprites and threw enough in to keep you playing. Quality Super Nes title.
7. Halo: what can I say? This game is the biggest threat to Sony gaming worldwide, millions of xbox 360 units were sold just on the promise of Halo 3 being released.

8. FF XII: How can the latest incarnation beat out the best in the series (FF7). "Look at the Wookie... It doesn't make sense."
9. Tetris: Pfft No comment.... Yawn
10. Super Metroid: are you kidding? another lame Nintendo title. my god! Metroid garners so much acclaim across the gaming community but I just don't get it, To me this game didn't offer me anything save, respect where it is due, a fairly ok storyline.
Overall....(takes breath and steps down from soapbox) this list shows that Edge Magazine should be retitled to "Nintendo Fanboy Magazine".

people saying thier favourite games and ones they think may be the best might not realise this over a long time i'd say and GTA is a popular game but there are alot of people who dont like.
The only thing that puzzled me was Halo : Combat Evolved coming over Halo 2. Last year and since it came out Halo 2 was the most popular online and game and it sold im sure sold alot more then Halo (1) combat evolved

Ha tell me about it, I think I've developed RSI just from typing it all.

@ Snuffix Yeah I noticed that too, I'm guessing that when polled most people haven't made the distinction between the titles, basically have just answered Halo alone and that's why the kudos has gone to the first rather than the far superior sequel.

The Project Zero games are great. Not easy to come by any more though. They're survival horror (I love horror and RPGs). I have all three in the series. They're completely different to the average survival horror games. Look them up on the net if you want to know more or just ask me.
