That's because the reporters and complainers are ill informed.
They see something new that they don't understand and it scares them. Instead of finding out more about it, they dream up perverted little scenarios in their perverted little minds and try to ruin everyone else's fun. I myself haven't tried Second Life, and I doubt I will, but I won't judge it based on second hand information.

I like the sound of making money from it though. It take a certain kind of genius to make something out of nothing.
