hey guys, i just got a new HP PC yesterday night. i went to update it, as the HP UPDATES came up, and while it was installing a BIOS update it froze and i switched it off (which was stupid of me) . Now my pc dosent show anything onscreeen and i dont know what to do, its under warranty and a technician will come over the next weeks, but the pc costs $3000. do i have to reset bios or something, help please.. its brand new with vista too

Does it boot up? Go in to setup mode on startup if it does statup and reset BIOS. If that dosent work you might have to reformat. Which is alright in your case considering you dont have much information on it if its brand new.

i assume you were flashing the bios and it messed up so now when you turn it on nothing appears, yeah get a techinican as its simmilar to flashing a psp but turing it off, more easily fixed though wait fro the technican or google

Replace the Mobo if your experianced in that area.

According to member8898 (a mypsp forumer) says you need to take it to a computer place and get them to reflash the bios. Will cost around $80 so your in luck

thanks for your help guys, the technician is going to come soon, but i have another question, how do you manually reset BIOS on the MOTHERBOARD? I am really good in I.T, and i dont want to open the pc now, caus it will void warranty, so i will tell the tech about it, but can u manually reset it

you can't manually reset the BIOS, I wouldnt recommend to anyone to update there BIOS at all by them selves, always ends in tears. You have two options:
option 1) New mobo
option 2) reflash your BIOS ( i wouldnt do it yourself), but if you do want to do it your self at least tell me what bios you have (phoenix etc.)
