you say:

you should say:
You are participating in a race. You overtake the person coming second. What position are you in?

Why? because you could basically mean you overtake the second person you meet...does anyone else agree?

the arithmatic one is true. the problem is that most people accidentally do 1000+400+1000+300+1000+200+1000+100.

as such instead of getting 4090 people get 4900 so when the last number "10" comes up they add 100 to get 5000 instead of 4100.

everyone knows the answer.. it doesn't make u bad at math its just a trick of the mind
