PSP Social \ PSP Mini-Portal By Me (Suggestions)

Kespen says:

Right, so over the weekend, I've been making this little portal for the PSP, because I was bored out of my mind.
Here's what I've done so far...

www.swfupload.com/
(It might run a little slow on some computers.)

I made this thread thing to ask for suggestion to the portal, like:
-What pages it should lead to (If forums, you'd have to be connected to an access point.)
or
-What it's missing/how I can make it better.

Any suggestions will be considered if they're appropriate.

(When it's done I'll send a link to download it just in case anyone wants to.)

insectoid says:

it's interesting. it doesn't really do much at the moment though does it?

09 Sep 2007 - 11:53 Wouldn't you like to know...

Kespen says:

Well, no, that's why I'm asking for suggestions to what it should do and what links it should have.
Kinda like a little project particularily for people without homebrew.

It's funny.. I am in the progress of making one too! But mines for this website and it will allow you to download the newsletter and view it..

Kespen says:

Well, seeing as it's a Flash Document, I used actionscript to make the buttons work if that's what you mean.
The lines are 2 separate Movie clips looping in the background. They play at different times so that the background doesn't repeat itself.

@Snuffrix: Like the vista portal, I decided to make a flash portal of my own for the PSP, it might work, it might not depending on the version of flash the PSP uses.
But I wanted to give it a go anyway.
It's supposed to be a mostly offline portal so that you don't have to be connected to the web to use it. (Like most portals.) Basically, just imagine it on your PSP.

09 Sep 2007 - 13:51 Uh...wha'?

repopulating says:

Well the PSP v3.52 is now unable to play simple flash games

What do you mean by simple?

09 Sep 2007 - 14:08 Uh...wha'?

repopulating says:

Just simple line SWF's.. About 50kb..

09 Sep 2007 - 14:10 NBO Says: jungle cat FTW :P, who else voted for that tool i know i did but why did some one else

Kespen says:

Oh well, I'll finish it anyway, maybe some PSP's will be able to play it.

09 Sep 2007 - 14:13 Uh...wha'?

Lewace11 says:

The Slimline PSP should be able to play flash games better shouldnt it?? I mean its got double memory which is the main problem with flash on PSP.

09 Sep 2007 - 14:18 Scottish Borders, UK

Kespen says:

Who knows? Maybe it will work. I did always use to get those errors on my old one. But then again, if we're unlucky, maybe double won't be enough...

BTW: The actual file is about 22.7 kb so far.
And it won't get much bigger either because I'm only planning on adding in links to webpages.

09 Sep 2007 - 14:23 Uh...wha'?

J-FRESH says:

i have windows vist WXp and am on firmaware 3.50 and I unfortunatyely cant play the games it comes with it says my screens is to small "but in Technical words"

I like how you can change the colour of the line.It would be good if it was like a pc so you can minimze a page and then reopen it this would aslo make it possible to listen to music while doing another activity.

So maybe a functionality like I-tunes ."PSP-TUNES THAT COMES WITH VISTA WXP IS TO COMPLICATED AND I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE IT.

Games like pinball and all the other classics.Good luck I hope it works.

Also how do u make a portal ?

09 Sep 2007 - 16:15 perth

Kespen says:

You tend to ask that alot, I used Macromedia Flash to make this.
And if it's the screen size that's the problem(And I doubt that it is), then this shouldn't be a problem because it's in PSP resolution.

And last time I checked, you have up to 3 tabs running at the same time, any music playing on 1 of the tabs should keep playing shouldn't it?

09 Sep 2007 - 16:35 Uh...wha'?

J-FRESH says:

ok
it would keep on playing but in windows vista psp 'the newest one' theres no sound coming out the speaker, and yes the volume is up.I do it the way it tells you to but still dosent work ?

09 Sep 2007 - 16:48 perth

repopulating says:

It actually says this:

"Content Can Not Be Displayed"

And the reason why the portal is still working for you J-FRESH, Is because its not all just one big flash file.. Its mostly done in HTML

09 Sep 2007 - 20:57 NBO Says: jungle cat FTW :P, who else voted for that tool i know i did but why did some one else

Lewace11 says:

The problem with "PSPTunes" is it keeps running out of memory, the PSP keeps trying to load the whole song into the PSP's RAM which isnt nig enough and you keep getting the ran out of memory error message,

Also its really complicated unless you know at least a little about HTML, seeing as you have to put the MP3's path name into the HTML file of "PSPTunes", If that makes sense...

EDIT Its a good idea though, PSPTunes.
