If everything on your PSP is set okey then it'll be your router/firewall settings.

Is there any MAC address filtering?? or are you sure the router is connected to the internet?? It may be just an Ad Hoc router if its a local businessess or something.

Make sure u let it do the settings auomatically cos u might have an IP clash otherwise. And also make sure the signal strength is strong (at least 85%) or it will be really slow or even near impossible to connect. Also if ur 'borrowing' the connection, theres a slim chance the owner is using a certificate authentication- which will show up as no security, but is actually very srong and needs to be manually allowed

make sure you keep it completely still ( hard, i know ) but a slight movement can lose your whole connection
