The best free game, in my opinion, would have to be Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. However there's a bug, on some computers in the Server List screen no games come up for a few minutes. But I just go to the Internode Server website and look up their game servers; usually theres 3 or 4 that are packed.

My number two choice would have to be Fear: Combat. It's a free stand-alone game based on that really popular game with the scary little girl in it, and that game is called Fear.
It's a good game, but I just find that the people in almost every server are idiots. They don't play properly, they will continue to just mess around, tk, and run around trying to find exploits and bugs.
