Social \ Work Experience

Hey everyone,
i just realised that i will be doing work experience next year (year 10)

i was just wondering what u guys did (so i can get some ideas) and im wondering weither there are some realy cool places to go that you have to ask ahead of time (i know the official xbox magazine do it but they all look like crazy men in the mag........

)

so any ideas???

The good ones always go early, your school should give you info on them earlier though. The Police, Newspapers, Hospitals?

I say just go to your local shops and ask there. Give them your name and you're in with a chance.

Aaah but did you think you were interested in it, until you did it and figured it was crap? That's mostly what work experience does. Wrecks your ambitions and gives you an idea of how much you have to work in the next 2 years (VCE, HSE etc) to achieve what you want it life.

I did work experience in a Computer Engineering firm. It was fun looking at what they did (design and build) but like IAC said, it ensured I didn't go into that side of IT as it was not as fun as I thought it would be.

well my brother got to go to the eastern states and work with a friend of dads business(were in WA), so he was lucky lol

the thing is im already working :P (but for this i wont get paid lol)

i don't wanna do something where i just lay around selling stuff and moving boxes though

I did mine at a music shop (Allans) earlier this year. It was for a week.

The people were so nice and it was awesome. I learned a heap about music and all the different instruments (which I am really interested in).

But they aren't taking anyone for work experience ever again lol. I was the last one

so I was really lucky to get in.

work experience is the best!

i worked in a hydraulics workshop doing fitting & machining
now i start my apprenticeship there next year! xD
