i think i might just wait and save up and get a ps3 from here because of the powercord and stuff like that and the warrenty, But im still getting my ipod touch from HK and i will only have to pay $130 (roughly). ok to ease everyone's arguement. i just came back from hong kong (cause i'm from hong kong) for a little holiday, finally got myself a shinny white PS3, and here comes the price............. i paid $3000 hkd there which translates to aorund $428 AUD there no more arguing, buying stuff in hong kong is 100 X cheaper then in Oz.

actually to save more then $100 in hong kong :S it's like $700 in australia which means it's between 4.8k to 5k hong kong dollar, and they sell PS3 there for 3k hong kong dollar so you'll pay something like 450 - 500 dollars for one instead. And oh the warranty is still there, cause it's Sony, just take it to ur nearest Sony store and ask them.

If your using a digital output such as HDMI it wont matter, the region code is only for composite cables and maybe DVDs. You will be able to play Aus games on the HK PS3 if you have a digital output.
