Last week, Fox news had a segment where they discussed the "full nudity" and "sex" in mass effect. The new RPG game on the xbox360. In this game, you play as a male or a female and you play through the game choosing your path. As you play through the game, you develop relations with you crew mates and party members. During the game there are a few sections where, if you have build up the right kind of relationship with a character, you can have a very softcore (no boobs of any private parts) "sex" scene.

It's odvious that Geoff Keighley is the only person on there who knows anything about video games at all and when given the chance to rebut Cooper Lawrence's (self help author) statement about "going with the research" he is cut off and put to a panel who talks about children being porn obsessed monsters lol.

Recently after. many gamers trashed her book on amazon so she watched someone play the game for 2 and 1/2 hours and made an apology of

"I recognize that I misspoke," she said. "I really regret saying that, and now that I've seen the game and seen the sex scenes it's kind of a joke.
"Before the show I had asked somebody about what they had heard, and they had said it's like pornography," she added. "But it's not like pornography. I've seen episodes of 'Lost' that are more sexually explicit."

We all know she just did this to stop her book being trashed though. What do we all think?????

I've played through this game and seen a few of the scenes and they are no-where near what they say they are. It's a role playing game and these things happen in realy life. I think they represented it in a mature and appropriate fashion. Video games are evolving, it's gonna happen

honestly, I think they are making a massive deal about nothing. I found the video very interesting. Yes, parents should be involved in the game their children are buying, and yes, they should be monitoring what they play. But after doing some research of my own, there really isn't much to worry about...somehow I doubt kids are going to go out and buy this game just to see a soft sex scene.

o_O So that's why The Sims games are so popular?

Anyway, that just proves that the people who condemn video games have never played them in their entire lives.
Most people, well intelligent people, know to do some research before they state their opinion. Especially if they are going to say it o tv.
Listening to second or third hand information is not research. And maybe this will teach that moron to know what she's talking about.

That's true Mr Kiah.
When a game is banned that just makes people want it even more. So really if so much attention isn't given to something, then hardly anyone would know about it.
When you think about it the people who are trying to stop the game are really shooting themselves in the foot.
But I wonder if all those people are just doing what they do because of miss-place morals, or if they are paid by the game makers to get some publicity...?

bit of both probably

and yes, if people didn't make a fuss about it, not nearly as many people would know, and then, because of a ban on a game, want it. let's face it, the people who do want the game will know about it whether it's banned or not.
