RAM = random access memory

the more you have, the better

128gb ram > 4gb ram
vista (32bit) supports 128gb ram. xp supports 4gb ram

I'll upgrade my laptop from 128mb to 1gb when I see some money for it. Until that day I'll cope with lag.

Dude, it's like a really old one. Rarely use it for anything other then work when I need to be out and about. I got two desktops for gaming on if I ever felt like it, which isn't often.

Wow cool. And yeah I have an old lappy laying around too, 256mb of ram i think. I was thinking about setting it up in the roof as a bit of network storage (allbeit only 14gb or so) and maybe think of some other stuff I can have running on it all the time...

11/02/2008
id rather take it to the dump or give it to salvos than give it to you for 60

I use the laptop with a program thats similar to media center...It loads up with a dashboard with pictures, music and videos I just leave it connected to the aux in on my stereo.

Very nice! That is some serious speed EXTREME speed, the only problem is the $1000 price difference.

you dont need anything more than 2gb of ram.. other wise its useless... well for a couple months at least.. Vista is for novice pc users.. XP is the best (and if your only on vista for eye candy, you obviously dont know how to put themes on xp)

IF I was going to build a PC, I would put a 2GB single stick of DDR3 in it, and when games started to lag a little, I would save up and chuck another one in.
for a processor, I would use an intel QX6600 quad core (the $400 one)
an 8800GT 512 MB, or an Nvidia 9600 if they've come out then.

I hate the vista look and feel, the first thing I would do is get and XP theme.
