I got a vista laptop and i can't see the files i share from my XP computer. My XP can see all the files i put in my public folder on my laptop, but my laptop can't see the XP.

i downloaded LLTD on my xp laptop which is meant to fix this, but it doesn't seem to.

can anyone help me with this, cause my laptop has a small HDD and i need to share

Isn't there some sort of network connection center thingy in Vista where you need to set your connection type to either public or private (Can't remember which) before it'll work? Or enable file sharing ;D

On the folder:
right click > Properties > Sharing, and basically make sure everything is shared.

On the other computer:
Start > run > "\\[computer IP]" (no quotes) And that should be it...

@all my router's being blargh, I'll be on lator after cadets when I've got it sorted. It's taking ageees per page to open.

All you need to do from there is log in with your user name and password from that computer. If you user and pass is the same on the one that your are trying to access it from then it wont even bother asking.
