I'm kind of a bit wary about the whole touch screen technology on mp3 players and phones! haha, I dont want to buy the first model they come out with, I'd rather wait for the "new and improved" version!

and to insectoid i just want something with a big screen but things with touch screens have big screens

Cowon D2 released over a year ago now and i have owned one for the past year. its actually cheap about 280 for 8gb but it actually has limitless memory capacity (aka it has internal memory and you can have a SD card for extra memory) thing is that its 2.5" screen and its set out in a horizontal fashion and not vertical like the touch and P2 though its worth the price and real nice build albeit a bit chunky.

edit: also it has a 52 hour battery life for music and 10 hours for video. and i would rate sound quality higher than the ipod touch but havent had a chance to toy with the P2 but i will do in a few weeks time

if you want a 16gb model then wait a few weeks cos Samsung are releasing the P2 but i dont know when that would be for australia but i presume end of this month of halfway through next month
